SCIB Announces Proposed Change of Messrs Kreston John & Gan as External Auditors

Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (“SCIB” or the “Company”), a construction and engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (“EPCC”) specialist, today announced the proposed change of Messrs Kreston John & Gan as the external auditor, as part of the Company’s ongoing corporate governance and financial reporting arrangements.

The Company has formally communicated its intention to Messrs Kreston John & Gan through a letter dated 7 October 2026 and requested the necessary clearance to facilitate the proposed change of auditors. In this regard, SCIB has nominated Morison LC PLT as its proposed new external auditors, subject to the completion of the necessary procedures and regulatory requirements. SCIB will undertake the relevant procedures in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

The proposed change of auditors is not expected to affect SCIB’s ongoing business operations or project commitments. The Group’s construction, EPCC and Industrialised Building System (“IBS”) activities across Sarawak and Sabah will continue as planned, alongside its commitment to fulfilling its financial reporting and regulatory obligations.

Mr. Michael Tan Thian Zhi, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of SCIB

SCIB ‘s Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Tan Thian Zhi commented: “We would like to express our appreciation to Kreston John & Gan for their professional services and contributions to SCIB. As we undertake this transition, our priority remains ensuring continuity in our financial reporting processes while maintaining the standards of governance and transparency expected of a Main Market-listed company. Our operations remain focused on delivering our existing projects and meeting our commitments to clients, business partners and shareholders.”

He added, “We intend to work closely with the relevant parties to facilitate a smooth transition. At the same time, we remain committed to executing our order book, strengthening operational efficiencies and building on the progress achieved in Sabah over recent months.”

SCIB continues to expand its construction and development portfolio in Sabah. Since April 2026, the Group has secured four project awards in the state, with a combined value of approximately RM90.28 million. These projects encompass works at SMK Balaban Jaya in Beluran, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Sekolah Kebangsaan Kaingaran in Tambunan, and the student hostel block at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Keningau.

On 19 August 2026, SCIB’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Ecobuild Sdn. Bhd., entered into a co-development agreement for a proposed 144-unit high-rise residential development in Penampang, Sabah, with an estimated gross development value of approximately RM83.19 million.

In September 2026, the Group also announced the proposed acquisition of land in Kolombong, Kota Kinabalu, for RM15.20 million. The properties comprise six existing tenanted two-storey shoplots and two undeveloped land parcels, offering opportunities for recurring rental income, future development and the establishment of SCIB’s planned Sabah branch office.

Moving forward, SCIB remains focused on disciplined project execution, effective cost management and prudent funding practices as it seeks to strengthen its order book and establish a sustainable long-term presence across East Malaysia.
