Industrialised building systems specialist, Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (“SCIB” or the “Company”) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Industrialised Building System Sdn. Bhd. (“SIBS”), has secured a Letter of Award (“LOA”) for an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (“EPCC”) contract with an estimated value of RM32.78 million.
The contract was awarded by Belian Juta Sdn. Bhd. and involves the construction of a new secondary school, SMK Balaban Jaya in Beluran, Sabah. The project comprises the development of 18 classrooms along with supporting facilities in accordance with standardised education infrastructure specifications.
The project is scheduled to commence on 27 April 2026 and is expected to be completed by 29 November 2027, spanning approximately 19 months.
This latest contract win reinforces SCIB’s growing footprint in the Construction and EPCC segment, particularly within East Malaysia where infrastructure and public development projects continue to gain momentum. This is in line with the Company’s ongoing strategic realignment, including the recent divestment of the Company’s manufacturing segment, as SCIB sharpens its focus on its core Construction and EPCC segment. The project is expected to contribute positively to the Company’s earnings over the duration of the contract, with revenue to be recognised progressively in line with project milestones.
