SHAH ALAM, 12 JUNE 2026 – LEON FUAT BERHAD (“Leon Fuat” or the “Group”), a manufacturer and trader of steel products specialising in rolled long and flat steel, successfully concluded its 19th Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) today, with shareholders expressing strong support for all resolutions tabled.

The strong mandate from shareholders reflects continued confidence in Leon Fuat’s business direction, disciplined management approach and long-term strategy to strengthen its integrated steel trading, processing and downstream manufacturing capabilities.
At the AGM, shareholders approved the payment of a final single-tier dividend of 1.0 sen per share for the financial year ended 31 December 2025 (“FY2025”), reaffirming the Group’s commitment to delivering shareholder returns while maintaining a prudent capital management approach. The dividend is scheduled to be paid on 24 July 2026 to depositors registered in the Record of Depositors as at 30 June 2026.
Shareholders also approved the re-election of retiring Directors, namely Ooi Kong Tiong, Ng Kok Teong and Ooi Shang How, providing continuity at Board level as the Group continues to navigate a steel market influenced by price volatility, foreign exchange movements and broader global uncertainties.
In addition, shareholders approved the re-appointment of Messrs Baker Tilly Monteiro Heng PLT as the Company’s Auditors for the financial year ending 31 December 2026. The renewed mandate for the Directors to issue shares of up to 10% of the total number of issued shares of the Company was also approved, providing the Group with flexibility to raise funds efficiently should suitable investment opportunities, working capital requirements or corporate proposals arise. The proposed renewal of the existing shareholders’ mandate for recurrent related party transactions of a revenue or trading nature was also approved, allowing the Group to continue carrying out transactions necessary for its day-to-day operations, subject to normal commercial terms and compliance with the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
Calvin Ooi Shang How, Executive Director of Leon Fuat commented, “We are encouraged by the strong support shown by our shareholders at the AGM. Their confidence is important to us, especially as we continue to build on the stronger profitability achieved in FY2025 and the positive start recorded in the first quarter of FY2026.”
He added, “Leon Fuat remains focused on disciplined execution, prudent inventory management and improving operational efficiency across our trading, processing and downstream manufacturing activities. While the steel industry remains exposed to external volatility, our diversified customer base, broad product range and integrated capabilities provide us with a resilient platform to pursue sustainable growth.”
Looking ahead, the Group remains cautiously optimistic on its prospects for FY2026. Domestic demand supported by infrastructure activity, manufacturing expansion, private sector investment and ongoing industrial development is expected to continue underpinning steel consumption. The Board expressed its appreciation to shareholders for their continued trust and support, and reiterated its commitment to strengthening the Group’s fundamentals while delivering sustainable long-term value.
