GTA Expands Regional Footprint Through Safran Helicopter Engines Distributorship in Brunei Darussalam

GTA Holdings Berhad (“GTA” or the “Company”), an investment holding company whose subsidiary is principally involved in the provision of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (“MRO”) related services specialising in helicopter and fixed-wing engines, their parts and components, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Global Turbine Asia Sdn. Bhd. (“Global Turbine”), and Safran Helicopter Engines Asia have formalised a Distributor Agreement for Brunei Darussalam, marking the formalisation of GTA’s authorised distributorship role in Brunei Darussalam and strengthening the Company’s presence in the regional aerospace support market. The appointment authorises GTA to support the distribution of Safran Helicopter Engines products and services in Brunei Darussalam.

Second row (from left): Tuan Syed Abdul Rahman, Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of GTA Holdings Berhad; and Mr. Philippe Lubrano, Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of GTA Holdings Berhad.

The agreement builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Global Turbine and Safran Helicopter Engines Asia earlier in July, which established a framework to expand their collaboration beyond Malaysia into Brunei Darussalam. More importantly, it reflects the continued evolution of a partnership that has been built over many years through technical collaboration, operational excellence and mutual trust.

The appointment broadens GTA’s role within the Safran Helicopter Engines ecosystem and underscores the strategic value of the relationship between both organisations. By extending authorised support activities into Brunei Darussalam, the agreement not only enhances customer support capabilities within the market but also reinforces GTA’s position as a trusted regional partner capable of supporting Safran’s long-term objectives in Southeast Asia.

Dato’ Nonee Ashirin Dato Mohd Radzi, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of GTA, said, “This appointment is particularly meaningful as it reflects the confidence Safran Helicopter Engines Asia has placed in GTA after years of close collaboration and partnership. It is a testament to our team’s technical capabilities, operational standards and commitment to supporting customers across the region.”

She added, “Beyond expanding our presence in Brunei Darussalam, this appointment demonstrates the strength of the relationship between GTA and Safran Helicopter Engines Asia. Together, we share a common commitment to delivering reliable aerospace support solutions and strengthening aviation capabilities within the region.”

Under the agreement, GTA will be authorised to market and support selected Safran Helicopter Engines products and services within Brunei Darussalam. The appointment strengthens GTA’s ability to support customer requirements in the territory while broadening the range of authorised aerospace support activities undertaken by the Company as part of its regional growth strategy.

The distributorship appointment highlights the growing strategic relationship between GTA and Safran Helicopter Engines Asia and demonstrates how collaboration between local aerospace companies and global OEMs can contribute to capability development, customer support excellence and the continued growth of the regional aerospace ecosystem.
