KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — The Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 has officially commenced, bringing together Malaysia’s cultural heritage and automotive enthusiasm through a 12-day festival running from Sept 23 to Oct 4 across IOI City Mall Putrajaya, KLIA Terminal 1, and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA.
Building on the momentum of Citrawarna 2026 held at Dataran Merdeka in July, this latest edition introduces a more interactive format that combines traditional arts, tourism promotion and motorsport-themed activities. The event is supported by a range of strategic partners, including IOI City Mall, IOI Properties, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), ASUS, Intel, HP, MSI, SNS Network, Kraftangan Malaysia, Istana Budaya, and the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN).
At IOI City Mall Putrajaya, visitors can explore four themed zones featuring racing simulator competitions, tourism information booths, cultural exhibitions, traditional craft demonstrations and live performances. Cultural showcases include traditional games, arts and crafts activities, while motorsport enthusiasts can participate in simulator challenges and interactive experiences.
Visitors arriving at KLIA Terminal 1 and staying at Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA will also be greeted by cultural dance performances, automotive displays, racing simulators and traditional Malaysian games. The hotel has introduced specially designed festival-themed room key cards as part of the celebration.
A major highlight of the festival will be the Colours of Parade on Oct 3 at 8.30pm at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, where approximately 1,500 cultural dancers and performers will take part in a large-scale showcase celebrating Malaysia’s diversity and heritage. The festival will conclude on Oct 4 with a Lamborghini Activation featuring around 100 supercars.
Organisers said the festival supports the objectives of the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign by creating a platform that promotes tourism, retail, hospitality and the creative industries through a unique blend of culture and lifestyle experiences.
