Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 Reaches Cultural Peak with 1,500-Performer Colours of Parade

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — The cultural highlight of Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 takes centre stage tonight with the Colours of Parade, bringing together 1,500 dancers and cultural performers from across Malaysia in a large-scale celebration of the nation’s diverse heritage and traditions at IOI City Mall Putrajaya.

The parade is the centrepiece of the 12-day festival organised by Tourism Malaysia, which runs from Sept 23 to Oct 4 across IOI City Mall Putrajaya, KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA. The event combines Malaysian arts and culture with motorsport-inspired attractions as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 (VM2026–2027) campaign.

The event was attended by senior government and tourism leaders, including Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Chiew Choon Man, alongside representatives from the tourism and hospitality sectors.

As the festival’s cultural showcase, the parade features performances representing Malaysia’s Northern, Central, Southern and East Coast regions, as well as Sabah and Sarawak. Traditional music, dance, colourful costumes and artistic performances are complemented by presentations from the Orang Asli, Chinese, Indian, Sikh and Siamese communities, highlighting the country’s multicultural identity and unity.

Beyond the parade, festival-goers can experience a variety of attractions under Colours of Speed and Colours of Art & Culture, including racing simulators, motorsport-themed exhibits, traditional crafts, cultural demonstrations and interactive heritage activities.

The festival also extends to KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA, where international travellers are introduced to Malaysian cultural experiences through performances, exhibitions and interactive activities.

According to Tourism Malaysia, the festival supports the momentum of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign amid continued tourism growth. Malaysia recorded 28.8 million international visitor arrivals between January and August 2026, up 1.8% from a year earlier, while domestic tourism reached 151.6 million visitors in the first half of 2026, a 5.6% increase compared with the corresponding period last year.

The festival will conclude on Oct 4 with a special Lamborghini Activation at IOI City Mall Putrajaya featuring approximately 100 Lamborghini vehicles, bringing together cultural celebrations and automotive experiences in line with the festival’s unique “culture meets speed” concept.
