Betamek Berhad (“Betamek” or the “Company“), an Original Design Manufacturer (“ODM“) and a leading player in electronics manufacturing services (“EMS”) for the automotive and industrial sector, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Betamek Electronics (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“Betamek Electronics”), has successfully maintained its Supplier Competitiveness Level (“SCL”) Level 5 rating following a reassessment conducted by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (“MARii”).
The successful reassessment extends Betamek Electronics’ SCL Level 5 certification validity from 2026 to 2029, reaffirming the Company’s position among Malaysia’s leading automotive suppliers and confirming its continued alignment with internationally recognised operational and manufacturing standards. Betamek Electronics had previously achieved SCL Level 5, the highest rating under the programme, in 2024.
The SCL assessment is a comprehensive benchmarking programme designed to evaluate automotive suppliers across multiple areas of business performance, with the objective of identifying capability gaps and driving continuous improvement towards global best practices. The assessment covers various operational and management disciplines, providing a comprehensive evaluation of a company’s competitiveness and readiness to support the evolving automotive industry.
Maintaining Level 5 status demonstrates Betamek’s continued commitment to operational excellence, quality management, technological capabilities and continuous improvement. The achievement also reflects the Group’s ongoing investments in smart manufacturing, digitalisation and process enhancement initiatives aimed at strengthening its competitiveness within both domestic and international markets.
The reassessment comes on the back of several milestones achieved by the Company in recent years, including progress in advanced automotive electronics, connectivity modules, smart manufacturing initiatives and technology-driven research and development programmes. Together, these efforts continue to strengthen Betamek’s capabilities as the automotive industry moves towards greater connectivity, digitalisation and advanced mobility solutions.
