PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA, 15 July 2026 – Tourism Malaysia has intensified promotional efforts for Citrawarna Malaysia 2026, one of the flagship cultural festivals under the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign, through a special television interview featuring Tourism Malaysia Director General, Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, on TV3 and TV9.
During the interview, the Director General highlighted the festival’s key attractions and invited Malaysians and international visitors alike to experience the three-day cultural extravaganza, which will take place from 24 to 26 July 2026 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

A major highlight of the interview was the introduction of the festival’s four signature experiences, collectively reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of Malaysia’s cultural identity: Colours of Parade, Colours of Culture, Colours of Flavour and Colours of Art.
Each component has been carefully curated to celebrate Malaysia’s rich heritage, multicultural traditions, artistic creativity, and culinary diversity.
Visitors can look forward to the highly anticipated Colours of Parade, the festival’s signature showcase featuring more than 3,500 participants representing all 14 states and various cultural communities across the country. The parade promises a spectacular display of traditional costumes, music, dance performances, and cultural storytelling.
In addition to the grand parade, visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities throughout the festival, including cultural performances, authentic Malaysian cuisine, traditional arts and crafts exhibitions, interactive demonstrations, and family-friendly experiences. Admission to the event is free.
The television coverage is expected to reach an estimated 33 million viewers across TV3 and TV9, significantly expanding public awareness and engagement ahead of the festival. The promotional initiative forms part of Tourism Malaysia’s broader efforts to strengthen the visibility of Citrawarna Malaysia 2026 while supporting the objectives of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
Tourism Malaysia believes the extensive media exposure will help attract greater visitor participation and reinforce Malaysia’s position as a leading destination for culture, heritage, and memorable travel experiences.
Citrawarna Malaysia 2026 will take place from 24 to 26 July 2026 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together the colours, rhythms, flavours, and traditions that reflect the spirit of the nation.
