SCIB Completes Change of External Auditors to Morison LC PLT

Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (“SCIB” or the “Company”), a construction and engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (“EPCC”) specialist, today announced the completion of the change of its external auditors, with Morison LC PLT appointed as the Company’s new external auditors with effect from 30 October 2026, in place of Messrs Kreston John & Gan.

The appointment follows SCIB’s announcement on 9 October 2026 of the proposed change of auditors, under which the Company had nominated Morison LC PLT as its new external auditors. With the necessary procedures and regulatory requirements now completed, including the clearance from Messrs Kreston John & Gan and Morison LC PLT’s written consent to act, the change of auditors has taken effect in accordance with the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Morison LC PLT is a Malaysian audit, tax and advisory firm and a member of Morison Global, an international association of independent accounting and consulting firms. The firm will undertake the statutory audit of the Group’s financial statements going forward. The change of auditors does not affect SCIB’s ongoing business operations or project commitments, and the Group’s construction, EPCC and Industrialised Building System (“IBS”) activities across Sarawak and Sabah continue as planned, alongside its commitment to fulfilling its financial reporting and regulatory obligations.

Mr. Michael Tan Thian Zhi, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of SCIB

SCIB’s Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Tan Thian Zhi commented: “We are pleased to welcome Morison LC PLT as our new external auditors and to have completed the transition in an orderly manner. We once again thank Kreston John & Gan for their professional services and contributions to SCIB. With the transition completed, our priority remains ensuring continuity in our financial reporting processes while upholding the standards of governance and transparency expected of a Main Market-listed company.”

He added, “It is business as usual for the Group. We will work closely with Morison LC PLT going forward, while remaining focused on executing our order book, strengthening operational efficiencies and building on the progress achieved in Sabah over recent months.”

With the auditor transition now completed, SCIB remains focused on business continuity, disciplined project execution and prudent financial management. The Group will continue to fulfil its project commitments, strengthen its operational capabilities and pursue sustainable growth opportunities across Malaysia, while maintaining its commitment to corporate governance, transparency and regulatory compliance.
