KUCHING, 15 MAY 2025 – Industrialised building systems specialist, Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (“SCIB” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce its successful participation in two major industry events in Sarawak – the ICW Borneo 2025 held from 13–14 May 2025 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, and the ASEAN Building & Construction Working Group (“BCWG”) delegation visit from the Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (“CREAM”) on 15 May 2025 at MKRM Sarawak.

These back-to-back engagements provided SCIB with the opportunity to showcase its latest construction innovations and sustainable solutions, while strengthening its position as a key contributor to East Malaysia’s rapidly evolving infrastructure landscape. With approximately 2000 attendees across both events, including government stakeholders, contractors, developers, and regional delegates, SCIB received positive feedback on its product offerings and commitment to quality.

With SCIB’s Industrialised Building System (“IBS”) applied to volumetric construction, enabling significantly higher cost and time efficiencies, drawing strong interest from major industry players. Many visitors expressed keen interest in exploring how SCIB could meet their project needs, further solidifying the Company’s position as a leader in the construction industry.
On the other hand, the event also showcased SCIB’s strategic partnership with MyArch, under the SCIB-MyArch brand. This collaboration combines SCIB’s extensive local manufacturing expertise with MyArch’s proprietary engineering systems to deliver advanced segmental bridge solutions tailored for Sarawak’s terrain. Notable innovations such as the Bebo Arch System, LS Girder, and MyArch Culvert were demonstrated during both events. These solutions are not only engineered for superior performance and aesthetics but are also designed for environmental sustainability, faster deployment, and minimal on-site disruption.
The Bebo Arch System, for instance, has gained traction across Malaysia and was prominently featured for its application in the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Phase 1. The LS Girder, developed with cutting-edge Korean engineering, and the MyArch Culvert, offering hydraulic efficiency and ease of installation, were also key focal points in SCIB-MyArch’s presentations.
Mr. Ku Chong Hong, Managing Director of SCIB, commented, “Our participation in ICW Borneo 2025 and the ASEAN BCWG delegation visit marks an important milestone in SCIB’s efforts to position ourselves as a forward-thinking contributor to regional infrastructure development. We are proud to showcase our partnership with MyArch, which aligns with our mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and efficient engineering solutions tailored to the unique demands of East Malaysia. The strong reception we received underscores market confidence in our capabilities, and we look forward to expanding our footprint through collaborative innovation.”
SCIB remains committed to advancing Malaysia’s construction sector through strategic innovation, strong partnerships, and localised solutions that address regional infrastructure needs. These events serve as an important platform for fostering greater collaboration within ASEAN, while further establishing SCIB’s role in driving sustainable infrastructure development across Borneo and beyond.
