Merdeka Square, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is set to come alive once again as Citrawarna 2026 returns from July 24 to 26, bringing a vibrant showcase of Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage through an exciting mix of performances, food, art and community experiences.
Held in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, the three-day festival will feature four immersive highlights — Colours of Parade, Colours of Flavour, Colours of Culture and Colours of Art — each offering visitors a unique way to experience the diversity and creativity that define Malaysia. From lively cultural performances and traditional cuisines to heritage showcases and artisanal crafts, the event will bring together talents and traditions from across the country in one colourful celebration.
A key highlight of the festival is the highly anticipated “Colours of Parade” on July 25, where performers representing different states will take to the streets in a spectacular display of music, dance and storytelling. The parade is expected to transform the historic Merdeka Square into a dynamic stage, celebrating the nation’s unity and cultural richness through coordinated performances and visually striking presentations.
