One-Year Underground Cable Supply Extension Reflects Master Tec’s Manufacturing Strength, Delivery Track Record and Utility-Grade Quality Standards
Master Tec Group Berhad (“Master Tec” or the “Group”), a premier player in the manufacturing and distribution of power, control and instrumentation cables, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Master Tec Wire & Cable Sdn. Bhd. (“MTWC”), has secured a one-year optional contract extension from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (“TNB”) for the supply and delivery of underground cables and conductors of various sizes for TNB’s Distribution Network Division.
The extension, valued at RM109.54 million, will run from 10 August 2026 to 9 August 2027. It forms part of Contract TNB104/2025, which originally carried a contract value of RM107.75 million, together with subsequent addendums and optional value components. Including the latest optional extension, the total contract framework value amounts to approximately RM251.94 million.
The award highlights Master Tec’s growing capability in supporting Malaysia’s electricity infrastructure supply chain, particularly in underground cable and conductor solutions used for power distribution networks. For a cable manufacturer, supplying to a national utility such as TNB requires more than production scale. It reflects the ability to meet stringent technical specifications, consistent product quality, delivery discipline and long-term supply reliability.
Beyond the contract value, the extension strengthens Master Tec’s visibility within the utilities segment, a market that is expected to remain supported by grid upgrading, electrification demand, renewable energy integration, industrial expansion and new power infrastructure requirements. With Malaysia’s energy system becoming more complex and electricity demand continuing to grow, reliable local cable manufacturers play a key role in ensuring the timely rollout of critical infrastructure.

As of today, Master Tec’s manufacturing business, MTWC, maintained an outstanding order book of RM231.65 million, while its infrastructure services subsidiary, Sediacom Sdn. Bhd. (“Sediacom”), recorded an outstanding order book of RM89.36 million, providing healthy earnings visibility for the Group.
