DPS Resources Berhad (“DPS” or the “Company”) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shantawood Sdn. Bhd. (“SSB”), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with BBSB Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (“BBSB”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of BBSB International Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (“HKEX”; Stock Code: 8610), for the proposed phased lease, development, deployment and/or use of data centre capacity of up to 89 megawatts (“MW”), with potential expansion up to an aggregate capacity of 400MW.
Under the proposed collaboration, BBSB may participate as a strategic partner in the planning, development and utilisation of the data centre infrastructure to be developed by SSB in Malaysia, including supporting the identification and coordination of potential users, tenants or capacity requirements, subject to further discussion and the definitive agreements.
Subject to the fulfilment of conditions precedent and the execution of definitive agreements, the parties intend to collaborate on a phased data centre capacity lease of up to 89MW. The target delivery schedule comprises 20MW in 2027 under Phase 1, 20MW in 2028 under Phase 2, 20MW in 2029 under Phase 3, and 29MW in 2030 under Phase 4. The proposed capacity represents the initial phased capacity to be further discussed, developed and potentially allocated to BBSB or its nominated users, tenants or off-takers. The parties may further discuss expansion of the project up to an aggregate capacity of 400MW, subject to technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, infrastructure availability, commercial terms and the definitive agreements.
SSB is the owner of the relevant land and existing factory rights and intends to develop and convert the proposed facility into a high-specification data centre facility. BBSB may involve the provision and utilisation of supporting infrastructure and related facilities for data centre operations, with the respective roles and responsibilities of the Parties to be further determined and agreed under the definitive agreements.

To recap, the SSB data centre initiatives have undergone prior consultation with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (“TNB”) on 10 March 2026. SDT Engineering Sdn. Bhd. has confirmed the availability of sufficient power capacity of up to 500MW and 89.1MW for the respective projects. The availability of reliable water supply has also been validated through the Surat Tiada Halangan, or No Objection Letter, issued by Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (“SAMB”) on 7 August 2026 and further confirmed by GNL Engineering Consultancy.
SSB has also received a letter of support from the Chief Minister of Melaka dated 30 July 2026. The relevant application forms, supporting documents and letter of support have been submitted to the Data Centre Task Force for its consideration and approval.
The Group believes that the proposed collaboration, if successfully implemented, may enhance the value and utilisation of the Group’s land and assets, strengthen its data centre development pipeline and create opportunities for DPS to participate in the growing digital infrastructure and data centre sector.
