Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (“SCIB” or the “Company”), a Construction and EPCC specialist, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Industrialised Building System Sdn. Bhd. (“SIBS”) has secured a RM21.01 million subcontract from Belian Juta Sdn. Bhd. (“BJSB”) to undertake upgrading works for the student hostel block at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Keningau in Keningau, Sabah.
The Letter of Award was issued by Belian Juta Sdn. Bhd. (“BJSB”), which had secured the main contract for the Project. Under the subcontract, SIBS will be responsible for the execution, performance and completion of the subcontract works, including the provision of the necessary materials, labour, machinery, equipment and mechanical plants required for the Project.
The RM21.01 million project is scheduled to commence on 21 August 2026 and is expected to be completed by 22 January 2029. The subcontract further strengthens SCIB’s construction and EPCC project pipeline in Sabah and builds on the Group’s recent momentum in securing and pursuing new opportunities across the state.
Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman Datuk Chong Loong Men commented: “Sabah continues to be an important growth market for SCIB, and this latest project further strengthens our presence in the state. The IPG Keningau project also builds on our involvement in education-related projects, where effective project execution and timely delivery are important to ensure that these facilities continue to serve their communities”

The latest contract follows SCIB’s RM24.59 million EPCC contract secured on 5 August 2026 for the reconstruction of Sekolah Kebangsaan Kaingaran in Tambunan, Sabah. Additionally on 7 August 2026, the Group also announced a strategic co-development agreement for a high-rise residential development in Penampang, Sabah, expanding its business presence in the state beyond its core construction and EPCC activities. These recent developments reflect SCIB’s continued efforts to strengthen its presence in Sabah and develop a more diversified pipeline of opportunities.
The IPG Keningau contract is expected to contribute positively to SCIB’s future earnings over its tenure, with revenue and profit to be recognised progressively in accordance with the progress of the works, subject to the successful execution and completion of the contract. The project is expected to be funded through internally generated funds and/or project progress billings.
Moving forward, SCIB will continue to focus on expanding its construction and EPCC project pipeline across East Malaysia, underpinned by disciplined project execution, effective cost management and selective approach to new opportunities. The Group remains focused on strengthening its order book and building a sustainable platform for long-term growth.
